The Bulk Actions feature allows instructors to set the Due Date and Content Availability settings of all content items within a course section in one go instead of configuring each content item separately. This can be especially useful for example if your course progresses week by week or day by day, and you wish to set due dates and/or availability dates for each section of the course.
Best Practice
The bulk action is applied to all content items currently in the course section. Therefore, it is advised first to finish building your course structure and only then apply bulk actions to its sections. Any new content item you add to a section must be configured independently (or by using bulk action once again).
Set a Due Date to Multiple Content Items
Enter a course that you are instructing, hover over the desired course section and click on the three dots icon, then select Content Due Date:
Note that if you have content editing permissions in your course (e.g. if it is a course that you created from scratch), your section toolbar will look like this:
After clicking on Content Due Date, you should see the following page:
Now set the Due Date that you'd like to apply to all the content items that are currently in this section, and click Apply.
In the course view, you will notice that all items in the section are now set with the selected Due Date:
Set Availability of Multiple Content Items (scheduled lock/unlock)
Enter a course that you are instructing, hover over the desired course section and click on the three dots icon, then select Content Availability:
You should see the following page:
Now set the Content Availability configuration you'd like to apply to all the content items currently in this section, and click Apply.
Note
You may override the Due Date and/or Content Availability of an individual content item by selecting the Settings option at the single item level.
