The Heatmap Report visually represents skill levels for learners and groups of learners on the platform. Monitoring the heatmap will allow you to see the users learned abilities, capabilities, strengths, and weak points based on their aggregate performance across content from one or more courses and streams. The presented skills are a representation of the content tags defined on the platform. Learners will appear on the vertical axis, and the different skills will be on the horizontal one. The calculated average score will appear at the intersection of the two.
Who can see heatmaps?
Heatmap report is available for users with Training Manager permissions (data on all learners in the account) and Organizational Managers (data on all learners in their managed groups and subgroups).
Accessing the Heatmap Report
To see the Heatmap Report,
- Click on the Management Reports button in the main dashboard.
- Choose the Heatmap icon on the top right corner.
The heatmap values are calculated every several hours, and a "Last Updated" timestamp reflects when the data was last updated.
How are the heatmap scores calculated?
Scores are aggregated across all completed questions, according to the question's tags. Any answer to a tagged question counts for the total average score of that learner in that tag. Please take a look at this article on how to manage content tags in your account. Tags can be arranged in a hierarchical structure to reflect skills, competencies, topics, domains, or even product lines - according to what is meaningful for the organization.
How can I use heatmap reports if my content is not tagged?
Questions may be tagged retroactively. If you tag questions that learners have already answered, the corresponding data will be automatically calculated and displayed in the heatmap report (up to a few hours later).
Filtering the reports
